PM Krivokapić hosts delegation of Parliamentary Assembly of Francophonie
Prime Minister Zdravko Krivokapić hosted today in Villa Gorica a delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of Francophonie, led by Secretary General of Francophonie and MP of the ruling Republic on the Move (LREM) party in the French National Assembly Jacques Krabal.
PM Krivokapić welcomed a representative of an influential international political organisation made up of a third of UN member states. The Prime Minister welcomed the interest of Secretary General Krabal to include the parliaments of all Western Balkan countries, including Montenegro, in the Parliamentary Assembly of Francophonie (APF), which would be important, especially due to the EU aspirations of the countries in the region, the French presidency of the EU Council next year and France's support for Montenegro in the accession negotiations.
The Prime Minister emphasised the political importance of the APF and the International Organisation of Francophonie (OIF) in a global context, and that Montenegro's wish is to become a member of this organisation.
Speaking about the traditionally good cultural and educational ties between the two countries, Prime Minister Krivokapić informed Mr. Krabal about the intentions that he agreed with the Ambassador of France to Montenegro, H.E. Christian Thimonier, regarding the opening of a bilingual classroom in the Gymnasium.
This is a joint idea, and we will try to implement it as soon as possible. Our intention is to establish a bilingual, Montenegrin-French classroom in one of the high schools in Montenegro, which would be a big step in the intention to develop closer cooperation between our two countries in the field of Francophonie, Krivokapić said.
