PM Krivokapić meets with NATO Assistant Secretary General David Cattler
Prime Minister Zdravko Krivokapić met today with NATO Assistant Secretary General David Cattler.
Prime Minister Krivokapić expressed satisfaction with Mr. Cattler's visit and pointed out that the new Government of Montenegro is unreservedly committed to its Euro-Atlantic path. The Prime Minister informed Mr. Cattler about the political changes that have taken place in our country:
On 30 August 2020, Montenegro finally welcomed democracy and the first democratic changes. These changes are based on the Agreement of the Three Leaders, which guarantees the invariability of our foreign policy orientation.
Furthermore, the Prime Minister stressed the importance and need for NATO to assist all three segments of our security and defence system: the Ministry of Defence, the National Security Agency and the Police Directorate.
NATO Assistant Secretary General Cattler expressed satisfaction with his first visit to Montenegro:
It is my pleasure to meet you and many of your colleagues, here and in Brussels. I am also especially glad to meet with the Director of the National Security Agency, Mr. Dejan Vukšić, as well as with the Head of the Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defence of Montenegro, Mr. Goranović.
Mr. Cattler pointed out that he was happy because the citizens of Montenegro chose the Euro-Atlantic path, and that Montenegro, as a NATO member, reliably contributes to collective security.
The NATO Assistant Secretary General pointed out the danger of hybrid warfare, which is a special challenge for all allied countries, but also stressed the importance of timely exchange of information.
The meeting also emphasised the importance of the NATO Summit, which will be held on 29 and 30 June in Madrid and attended by Prime Minister Krivokapić.
