President of the Philippines hosts reception for Prime Minister Abazović

Despite his private and self-funded visit to the Philippines, Prime Minister Dritan Abazović was honored with a reception hosted by the President of the Philippines, Bongbong Marcos.

As a reminder, Prime Minister Abazović's trip to the Philippines was motivated by his desire to support Montenegro's national basketball team, which is set to face the United States in the second phase of the World Cup.

The meeting provided an opportunity for Prime Minister Abazović and President Marcos to discuss the enhancement of bilateral relations between the two nations, particularly in the area of tourism, the potential establishment of direct flights between the two countries, and the opening of a Philippine consulate in Montenegro.

Prime Minister Abazović expressed his gratitude for the reception and warm welcome, commending the Philippines for being exceptional hosts of the Basketball World Cup.

The President of the Philippines noted that he is well-acquainted with the natural beauty of our country, thanks to the First Lady of the Philippines, who has previously toured Montenegro as a tourist and has nothing but words of admiration for the experience.

As a token of respect for his hosts, Prime Minister Abazović attended the reception wearing the traditional Filipino Barong Tagalog shirt.
