Prime Minister and 4iG Group President Sign Memorandum, Paving the Way for Digital Advancement and Economic Growth
Prime Minister Dritan Abazović and President of 4iG Group Gellért Jászai signed a Memorandum of Understanding, resolving mutual legal proceedings and disputes stemming from the acquisition of ONE Montenegro, a mobile service provider.
This agreement has been reached to the satisfaction of both parties, with Montenegro emerging as the greater beneficiary. Simultaneously, it sets the groundwork for delivering EU-level service quality to citizens. By signing the Memorandum with 4iG Group, relations have been regulated, securing tens of millions of euros for Montenegro, stated the Prime Minister.
He emphasised that the presence of this renowned company in the region and the country will bring new technologies, enhanced cybersecurity measures, and digitalization of public administration. He expressed his expectation that this is only the first of many agreements to be signed with a company of 4iG's stature.
The Memorandum of Understanding we just signed represents the first step in a long-term partnership that can ensure an active role in Montenegro's digital development and consequently increase its economic and social competitiveness, said Gellért Jászai, President of 4iG Group, after the signing ceremony.
Our competencies and experience gained in the ICT sector provide us with the capability to support the acceleration of digitalization in Montenegro on multiple levels, from IT solutions for public services to telecommunications services for individuals and businesses, he added.
The Memorandum of Understanding underscores the significance of telecommunications, particularly information and communication technology sectors, in Montenegro's social and economic development. It also highlights the substantial potential of digitalization and a technology-based economy to enhance sustainable economic growth.
Through this collaboration, the development of infrastructure and widespread deployment of innovative solutions can also be included.
The partnership aims to achieve the objectives outlined in the "Digital Transformation Strategy of Montenegro 2022-2026," bringing forth solutions in the fields of economy, telecommunications, and digitalization.
Both parties look forward to a fruitful and mutually beneficial collaboration that will pave the way for significant progress in Montenegro's digital journey, fostering economic prosperity and technological advancement.
