Prime Minister Dritan Abazović and Minister of Sports and Youth Vasilije Lalošević received today President of the Balkan Athletics Federation Slobodan Branković and a delegation from the Athletics Association of Montenegro, led by President Milorad Vuletić.

The construction of an athletics stadium in Podgorica was the main topic of the meeting, and the participants agreed that it is necessary to start the implementation of this project as soon as possible.

We are proud of the excellent results achieved by our athletes, especially considering the conditions in which they train. Our obligation is to repay in the near future with projects like the athletics stadium in Podgorica, which will provide better training conditions and undoubtedly better results, said the Prime Minister.

President of the Balkan Athletics Federation Slobodan Branković thanked the Prime Minister for the reception and emphasised that Montenegro is important for the preparations of athletes from the region. He stated that the Balkan Athletics Federation's goal is for all capital cities to have athletics tracks, and this can only be achieved with the support of local authorities and the state.

Minister Vasilije Lalošević informed the participants about the conditions for the implementation of the athletics stadium project in Podgorica and highlighted that the fact that the Capital City has already designated a location is crucial, and that European and world athletics federations have expressed their readiness to contribute.
