Prime Minister Spajić: Enough tolerance – The budget must be adopted
Prime Minister Milojko Spajić has called on Parliament to adopt the Budget as soon as possible, emphasizing that it is evident some have an interest in halting pensions, investments, and Montenegro’s EU path—something he insists can no longer be tolerated.
In a statement on the social media platform "X," the Prime Minister wrote: "I call on Parliament to adopt the Budget as soon as tomorrow. As for the parliamentarians who enjoy grandstanding and blocking progress – let’s send them on an undeserved break for a few days."
Spajić warned that due to the expiration of Judge Đuranović’s mandate—who, as he pointed out, received a substantial severance package—thousands of pensioners could be left without the means to afford heating and food, adding that they “can no longer wait for their mercy like a mirage.”
The Prime Minister also noted that Judge Đuranović did not appeal her case to any domestic, constitutional, or European court, while still receiving her severance pay. He criticized the opposition, stating: "The opposition 'Soviet Union' refuses to consult the Venice Commission or any other institution from the EU or the Council of Europe."
In his post, Spajić further stated that the Judicial Council applied the same practice it has followed for years, arguing that the so-called "violated" procedure requires judges to vote on their own mandate termination—a process he described as "the greatest conflict of interest on the planet."
The Prime Minister concluded by stating that the parliamentary majority has shown great patience and has made every effort to reach a compromise. However, he reiterated that obstructing pensions, investments, and the EU accession process can no longer be tolerated.
