Signed a contract for supply and installation of 5 sensors for measuring seawater quality
Contract signed with the company Alem Sistem doo Sarajevo for the supply and installation of 5 sensors for measuring the quality of sea water. The value of the contract is € 97,500.00.
Procurement and installation of sensors that will measure certain parameters of sea water (salinity, dissolved oxygen, temperature, conductivity, turbidity, total disolved solids, pH, ORP) is planned through one of the three key activities of the SEAVIEWS project related to the development of an innovative virtual early warning system for prevention and management of marine pollution from a variety of sources.
The project envisages the development of a digital platform that will collect information via dedicated database through the network of smart sensors and mobile applications. The installation of sensors will provide detailed monitoring of water quality at the locations where they are installed, which will cover a wide range of ADRION region. This will enable the issuance of warnings to relevant stakeholders on potential marine pollution based on the results of advanced real-time input elaboration.
Ultimately, the project aims to raise awareness, as well as improve and modify existing national and regional action plans in the long run. The SEAVIEWS network will achieve this by identifying discrepancies between current and desired levels of environmental safety and it will propose corrective measures and actions for improvement in order to address any shortcomings and close identified gaps through a newly developed dynamic policy-making process.
