Soylu: Abazović's visit is a symbol of full cooperation between Turkey and Montenegro

Deputy Prime Minister Dritan Abazović met with Minister of the Interior of the Republic of Turkey Süleyman Soylu, at whose invitation he is paying a three-day working visit to that country. Montenegro can count on full support in all police activities, as well as in the emergency sector, the meeting noted.

Last night, DPM Abazović was accorded a ceremonial welcome in front of the building of the Ministry of the Interior. After a tête-à-tête meeting between DPM Abazović and Minister Soylu, an official meeting of the two delegations was held.

Deputy Prime Minister Abazović pointed out that Montenegro and the Republic of Turkey have good and friendly relations in almost all areas, noting that they are characterized by strong economic cooperation, continuous increase in trade and foreign direct investment, as well as a hig-quality contractual base that represents a good basis for the implementation of future projects of mutual interest.

Interior Minister Soylu emphasised that DPM Abazović's visit to Ankara is a symbol of full cooperation between the two countries. He stressed that Montenegro has a special place in the Balkans and should be the main source of stability for the entire Western Balkans.

Minister Soylu expressed readiness to help the Montenegrin police in training and equipment for police officers. The Turkish side noted that they are preparing a specialised vehicle for the control of public gatherings, with complete equipment, which will be donated to the Montenegrin police in the coming period.

DPM Abazović and Minister Soylu stated that the two countries have very good cooperation in the field of police affairs and emergency prevention. The two officials also exchanged views on illegal migration and the fight against terrorism.

After the official meeting, Minister Soylu organised an official dinner for the representatives of the Montenegrin delegation headed by Deputy Prime Minister Abazović.
