Minister of Finance and Social Welfare Milojko Spajić met today with General Manager of Bechtel Andrew Patterson. The meeting discussed the strategic cooperation of Bechtel with Montenegro.

The construction of the Adriatic-Ionian motorway is one of the strategic projects of the Government of Montenegro, and we are trying to accelerate the implementation of that project, said Minister Spajić.

The Government and Bechtel will cooperate under a Memorandum of Understanding for developing the road, rail, aviation, port, agricultural, educational and defence infrastructure.

In the coming weeks, Prime Minister Krivokapić and representatives of Bechtel will sign a Memorandum of Understanding which will serve as the basis for the formalisation of all necessary agreements and specification of the planned investments, Minister Spajić said and added that the Adriatic-Ionian motorway will be built according to the EU and NATO standards.
