Spajić and Kos hold phone call on EU enlargement
The new mandate of the European Commission marks a crucial time for EU enlargement and Montenegro's integration into the European family, concluded Prime Minister Milojko Spajić and EU Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos during a phone conversation.
Prime Minister Spajić congratulated Commissioner Kos on her appointment, emphasizing Montenegro’s enthusiasm for cooperation with the entire European administration in pursuit of a stronger, more prosperous, and united Europe.
I am confident this Commission’s mandate will be remembered for making enlargement a reality. Montenegro is dedicated to doing its part with the ambition of becoming the 28th EU member state by 2028, stated the Prime Minister.
Commissioner Kos expressed admiration for Montenegro's progress on its European path, showing optimism about the country’s ability to close negotiation chapters in line with the planned timeline.
Prime Minister Spajić extended an invitation to Commissioner Kos to visit Montenegro following the anticipated EU-Montenegro Intergovernmental Conference, expected to take place by the end of December 2024.
