Prime Minister of Montenegro, Milojko Spajić, and the British Ambassador, Dawn McKen, agree that good-neighborly relations, multi-ethnic and multi-religious harmony represent the wealth of Montenegro that must be preserved.

Today, Prime Minister Spajić hosted the British Ambassador to Montenegro, with whom he discussed the possibilities of strengthening bilateral cooperation as well as the implementation of the work program of the 44th Government. He informed the Ambassador about the activities for the preparation of the upcoming Census and said that the Government's goal was for the process to be transparent and inclusive, and that he would continue discussions with partners on this topic the following day.

British Ambassador, Dawn McKen, thanked the Prime Minister for the reception and pointed out that the dialogue with the opposition, non-governmental sector and representatives of minority nations is a message of the political maturity of the society and expressed her belief that it would give a good impetus to the upcoming, important processes.

At the meeting, it was assessed that the fact that the Parliament’s work at full capacity is of key importance for the implementation of the reform agenda, as well as that the support of the executive power in this context is indisputable. One of the most important tasks, in this sense, is the election of the Supreme Public Prosecutor, members of the Judicial Council and the seventh judge of the Constitutional Court.

The Government will give full and unequivocal support to the work of the prosecution service. First of all, the working conditions of the employees as well as their safety must be improved as soon as possible, said the Prime Minister.

The interlocutors exchanged opinions on the current state-of-affairs and agreed to continue cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
