Poland, as the presiding country of the Council of the European Union, has expressed full support for Montenegro's accelerated European integration, as highlighted during a meeting between Prime Minister Milojko Spajić and Chargé d'Affaires of the Polish Embassy in Podgorica Małgorzata Łakota-Micker.

January is set to provide additional momentum to the bilateral relationship through a series of high-level meetings, beginning with Prime Minister Spajić’s upcoming talks with Polish President Andrzej Duda at the World Economic Forum in Davos.

During the discussion, it was noted that EU Enlargement Commissioner Marta Kos confirmed the significant progress Montenegro made on its EU path last year, placing the enlargement process high on the EU’s agenda once again.

Our path is firmly pro-European, and we will never stray from it. Poland can serve as one of the driving forces behind our efforts to continue closing negotiation chapters in 2025, with the goal of concluding accession talks by the end of next year, Prime Minister Spajić emphasized.

Chargé d'Affaires Łakota-Micker reaffirmed that Poland would remain a constructive partner in Montenegro’s European journey.

It was mutually agreed that there is significant potential for increasing Polish investments and attracting more Polish tourists, for whom Montenegro's unique tourist offerings can be a remarkable discovery. In this context, improving infrastructure, particularly airports, was identified as a critical enabler.

Both parties also discussed plans to intensify efforts aimed at organizing an official visit by Prime Minister Spajić to Poland, further strengthening bilateral relations.
