Spajić with Schinas: Continuation of the political dialogue leading to the most important decisions and the closing of the negotiation chapters
The high level of political dialogue demonstrated in the first days of the Government's mandate is an example of how to approach all important issues such as the unblocking of the judiciary. It is an approach that will contribute to closing the negotiation chapters and strengthening the rule of law. It was stated at a meeting between Prime Minister Milojko Spajić and Vice President of the European Commission Margaritis Schinas.
During his first working visit to Brussels, Prime Minister Spajić met with the Vice President of the European Commission, Margaritis Schinas, with whom he discussed the European integration process of Montenegro and the importance of the decisions that enabled the dynamization of the negotiation process.
At the meeting, it was assessed that the very high level of citizen support for Montenegro's membership in the European Union at the level of around 80% is an extremely important aspect of the integration process and it is the duty of both the Government and the European Union to respond to the citizens' expectations.
The Vice President of the European Commission, Margaritis Schinas, emphasized the importance of the fact that the Government consistently conducts foreign policy and that Montenegro continues to align itself with the foreign and security policy of the European Union in that regard.
At the meeting, the interlocutors discussed the strengthening of traffic infrastructure, specifically the continuation of the Bar-Boljare highway and the construction of the Adriatic-Ionian highway. These projects, as assessed, are key to the further development of Montenegro and its traffic connection with the region and Europe, and as such must be at the top of the development agenda.
