Swedish Ambassador commends Montenegro's Government progress

I convey strong encouragement from official Stockholm to continue with the ongoing activities. With great enthusiasm, we look at everything happening in Montenegro since the election of your Government, said Ambassador of Sweden Annika Ben David during a meeting with Prime Minister Milojko Spajić.

The Prime Minister briefed the Ambassador on the Government's results in the first hundred days and emphasised that strengthening the rule of law, alongside intensifying European integration and accelerating economic growth, is one of the main tasks of the 44th Government. Along those lines, the Prime Minister highlighted that Montenegro has emerged from a period of political turbulence.

We are finally in calmer waters, and with the capital of achieved political stability, we can focus on development goals, said the Prime Minister.

Ambassador Ben David expressed gratitude to Montenegro for supporting Sweden's NATO membership and emphasised that, on the other hand, they remain strong advocates of Montenegro's intention to become the 28th member of the European Union.

We are pleased to see that the Government pursues policies based on the idea of Montenegro as a society of values. You will have our strong support in that, Ambassador Annika Ben David stated.

The officials assessed that strengthening cooperation within the EU and NATO will provide an additional impetus to bilateral cooperation in all areas of mutual interest.
