Abazović pays official visit to North Macedonia: Better regional cooperation opens up new perspectives for WB
Deputy Prime Minister of Montenegro Dritan Abazović is paying an official visit to the Republic of North Macedonia, at the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister in charge of economic affairs Fatmir Bytyqi.
The two officials discussed the possibilities for improving economic and regional cooperation, especially in the field of tourism, trade and agriculture.
DPM Abazović stated that the experiences of North Macedonia in food production can be useful to Montenegro and that we should work together on better product placement. Abazović pointed out that after the health and economic crisis caused by COVID-19 pandemic, new perspectives will open up for the Western Balkans, and that Montenegro and the Republic of North Macedonia would have great opportunities.
Deputy Prime Minister Abazović said that the Western Balkan countries should initiate a dialogue at deputy prime minister level, adding that there is no doubt that DPM Bytyqi would show his support.
DPM Bytyqi said that the Berlin Process, in which our two countries have been working diligently to achieve the goals set, has been important for the citizens and economies of the Western Balkans in recent years.
The goal of the Common Regional Market is to strengthen economic cooperation between the countries in the region, to increase competitiveness, but also the attractiveness of the region to the European Union market, Bytyqi said.
Deputy Prime Minister Bytyqi stated that regional competitiveness should be the future of regional cooperation instead of regional competition.
