Coordination Body for Monitoring "Europe Now!" Programme holds its second session
The Coordination Body for monitoring the "Europe Now!" programme held its second session, chaired by President of the Coordination Body and Minister Jakov Milatović.
Having in mind the overall socio-economic environment and depth of reforms, the members of the Coordination Body unanimously agreed that the implementation of a set of new legal solutions within the "Europe Now!" programme is proceeding very successfully and according to the planned dynamics.
The session noted that about 40 reports of potential violations of workers' rights have been received so far, and that the inspection bodies will closely monitor these cases and strengthen the supervision of those entities when paying salaries for January.
In cooperation with the social partners, a list of frequently asked questions and answers has been prepared and will be finalized at a round table in the Chamber of Economy, after which it will be published on the Government's website https://www.gov.me/mif/evropa-sad. To that end, a working group was formed, which was tasked to ensure continuous and timely interdepartmental harmonisation of views and update a single list, so that all presented answers were clearly and precisely formulated, in order to eliminate possible doubts.
As a very encouraging example that confirms the broad support of employers to the "Europe Now" programme, it is stated that the competent inspections during January 2022 registered only 123 workers, or 0.06% of the total number of employees in Montenegro, whose contracts were changed from full-time to part-time work. On that occasion, the Directorate for Inspection Affairs is in charge of performing urgent supervision, in cooperation with the Revenue and Customs Administration, of those employers with whom these changes have been recorded.
