French experience for successful cooperation between the Government and Parliament
The Minister without Portfolio, responsible for relations with the Parliament of Montenegro, Milutin Butorović, met with the Ambassador of France to Montenegro, Anne-Marie Maskay.
The Ambassador congratulated Minister Butorović on his new position in the 44th reconstructed Government of Montenegro and confirmed France’s commitment to continued cooperation with the Montenegrin Government. She affirmed that France remains a strong partner and ally to Montenegro, praising the country's progress on the path to European integration, especially in light of the recent positive IBAR. She highlighted that France’s presence and engagement are reflected not only in political support but also in expert assistance and expressed confidence that this trend will continue.
Minister Butorović briefed the Ambassador on the planned activities following his new appointment. Emphasising the importance of cooperation between the Government and Parliament, he expressed satisfaction that French experiences and comparative practices in this area could be highly beneficial in achieving his objectives, particularly in strengthening the connection between these two bodies. He noted that France has had a minister responsible for parliamentary cooperation for many years, which, in the context of implementing European practices and standards, could greatly benefit Montenegro.
Reflecting on the ever-improving bilateral cooperation and its intensification, especially in the fields of defence, health, and economy, both parties expressed openness to further communication and enhancement of cooperation, in line with the agreements reached during the meetings between the Prime Minister of Montenegro, Milojko Spajić, and the President of France, Emmanuel Macron.
