Ibrahimović receives newly appointed Ambassadors of Latvia and Côte d'Ivoire

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro Mr. Ervin Ibrahimović received today, in separate meetings, the newly appointed Ambassadors of the Republic of Latvia to Montenegro Juris Pogrebņaks, and Ambassador of Côte d'Ivoire Nogozene Bakayoko.

In the meeting with the Ambassador of Latvia, the Minister expressed satisfaction with the friendly and allied relations between the two countries and congratulated the Ambassador on his assumption of duty, with the conviction that his engagement will contribute to the advancement of political dialogue and overall interstate relations.

The significance of the European Union enlargement process for the stability and prosperity of the region was discussed, with a particular emphasis on the progress and results achieved by Montenegro on its path towards the EU. The role of Montenegro as a leader in EU integration in the region was highlighted, as well as Latvia's full support for the continuation of reform processes.

The interlocutors emphasized their commitment to further strengthening economic cooperation, with a special focus on investment potentials in the field of renewable energy sources.

Speaking about current challenges on the geopolitical level, they underscored the importance of firm alliance within NATO, as well as the unified action of all states that share the same democratic values, in order to contribute to global peace and security.

In the conversation with the Ambassador of Côte d'Ivoire Bakayoko, the Minister extended a welcome and wished her a successful mandate, assessing that there is significant room for the advancement of political dialogue between the two countries.

A mutual readiness was confirmed for the establishment of more dynamic bilateral cooperation in all spheres of common interest, particularly in culture and tourism, and the interlocutors also highlighted the importance of joint activities on the multilateral level.
