PM Krivokapić thanks the People's Republic of China for donated vaccines
Prime Minister of Montenegro Zdravko Krivokapić met today with the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Montenegro, H. E. Liu Jin.
On behalf of the Government of Montenegro and all its citizens, Prime Minister Krivokapić extended his appreciation to the Government of the People's Republic of China, the Prime Minister and the friendly people for donating 30,000 doses of Sinopharm vaccines against COVID-19.
The Prime Minister pointed out that the citizens of Montenegro appreciate the friendship, which China confirms by the act of handing over this aid.
"Montenegro is in a delicate situation because the Montenegrin health system has been brought to the extreme limits of endurance. The vaccines represent a hope that Montenegro will withstand all the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. That is why this donation has an even greater value," said Krivokapić.
The Prime Minister expressed admiration for the successes that China has achieved in the fight against the pandemic.
"China has sent a clear message to everyone that we must learn to live with COVID. I hope that discipline, consistent adherence to measures combined with vaccination, will contribute to maintaining the Montenegrin health system without collapsing the economy. We will mobilize all available health capacities, because this is a battle for every life," said Prime Minister Krivokapić.
Chinese Ambassador Liu Jin expressed satisfaction with the fact that he can contribute to the friendly relations between Montenegro and the People's Republic of China.
"Vaccines symbolically represent the good wishes and good intentions that China nurtures towards Montenegro and its citizens," said Liu Jin.
The Ambassador pointed out that China is ready to strengthen assistance when it comes to Montenegro, and that he has already discussed with Minister of Health Jelena Borovinić Bojović how to organise the next Sinopharm delivery as soon as possible.
Ambassador Liu Jin said that they expect that more than 50 percent of Chinese citizens will be vaccinated by the summer, and that the fight against the pandemic is a common problem of humanity. The Ambassador reminded that China had delivered vaccines to more than 70 countries and that it was actively participating in negotiations with dozens of countries.
