Prime Minister Spajić with the Director of the Transport Community: Time for better transport connectivity in the region
The Prime Minister of Montenegro, Milojko Spajić, met with the Director of the Permanent Secretariat of the Transport Community, Matej Zakonjšek, with whom he discussed traffic infrastructure projects that, as they agreed, will strengthen Montenegro's ties with the region and Europe.
On this path, the Transport Community will be a reliable partner for Montenegro.
Count on the fact that the Transport Community will work hand in hand with the Government of Montenegro to achieve full integration of the transport network of Montenegro into the network of the European Union based on the highest standards in this area. We will support you in the implementation of infrastructure projects that will improve connectivity within Montenegro, but also with all your neighbors, said Zakonjšek.
Prime Minister Spajić introduced the interlocutor with plans to strengthen the traffic infrastructure with an emphasis on the continuation of highway construction and with projects in the field of railway and air traffic.
The geographical position of Montenegro is our comparative advantage and we must begin to tap into this resource. It is time for better traffic connections with the region. We are building partnerships with our neighbors and European partners for better traffic connections and joint growth, said the Prime Minister.
In this context, the interlocutors assessed that it is necessary to prepare projects for the absorption of funds available to Montenegro within the Growth Plan of the European Union.
Zakonješek offered the support of the Transport Community in the domain of complete compliance of the legislation of Montenegro in the field of traffic with the Acquis Communautaire of the European Union.
The meeting was also attended by the Minister of Transport and Maritime Affairs, Filip Radulović.
