Skopje: It is time to overcome regional conflicts and for countries to cooperate more strongly
It is time to overcome regional conflicts and for countries to cooperate more strongly in terms of preserving peace, stability and ensuring prosperity, is the message from the meeting of NATO member states from the region with NATO Secretary-General, Jens Stoltenberg.
Addressing the media after the meeting, the Prime Minister of Montenegro, Milojko Spajić, reiterated Montenegro's unequivocal commitment to fulfilling its strategic foreign policy goals, which include full membership in the EU, continued consistent implementation of NATO policies, and strengthening of regional cooperation.
The Prime Minister pointed out that Montenegro, as a country without open issues with its neighbors, would continue to contribute to the improvement of regional cooperation and the preservation of peace and stability with its constructive actions.
Of course, we are aware that it is a two-way street and we expect that our neighbors will also recognize our readiness and contribute to the achievement of this goal based on mutual respect and trust, Spajić said.
He pointed out that a stable and safe Western Balkans is only possible with a firm and unequivocal European perspective and pointed out that the Government would implement the necessary reforms to contribute to Montenegro's approximation to that goal.
In addition to the Prime Minister of Montenegro, Milojko Spajić, the Prime Minister of the Republic of North Macedonia, Dimitar Kovačevski, the Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama, and the President of Croatia, Zoran Milanović, attended the meeting.
